Thank you for your time and for giving for these animals a second chance. Regards CHRISTINE CHIN ( CHAIRMAN ) AU ECHING ( COMMITTEE MEMBER ) About SPCA The aim of the SPCA is to protect defenseless animals and to alleviate their suffering. Established in 1958, the SPCA provides temporary shelter to unwanted animals in Selangor and the Federal Territory. These include mainly cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs ... usually pets that are no longer desired by their owners. From here, we try to rehome as many as possible but with more than 1,100 animals arriving every month (reaching some 13,000 annually), the shelter is constantly challenged by a shortage of space and limited funds. |
| May Kum January 30, 2007 08:49 PM PST I am a retired single lady living in Kuala Ampang and am disappointed with the all the red tapes and the to adopt a 1yr+ doggie that I have a liking. Many of my friends also complained about the system. 1.Based from our address is it necessary to visit our homes to approved the adoption?, 2.I do not mind paying the cost for the neuteuring but cannot afford the sum requested by SPCA. 3.It is not cruel to put down the animals as they are kept to aged at SPCA?Why not give them away for free or at a nominal fee to deserving adoptees 4.I am still hoping to adopt a young pup or doggie as an indoor pet and companion and wish that the cost, procedure and system to be more flexible. Thank you | ||
